Thanksgiving Outfit Ideas

November 30, 2019

Can you believe its almost Thanksigiving? Or that I’m actually writing a post dedicated to Thanksgiving Outfit Ideas? We have all been there: it’s the morning of a holiday and the outfit you thought was cute ended up being ugly or widely inappropriate for a family affair. I’m here just lending my hand and put together some fall trends to help you spark some Thanksgiving Outfit Ideas early instead of waiting until the night or morning of to decide what you’re going to wear.

Fall Dresses:

Thanksgiving Outfit Ideas

This might sound basic but dresses are probably my go to on holidays. As long as they aren’t too short or too low cut, they are the easiest to style and actually look like you tried. I love a fall colored dress or some sort of pattern that just reminds you of fall. This dress is from Free People that I actually got at Marshalls (I was so shocked too). Adding my boots and a fun sock or leg warmer just adds to the outfit and makes you look more stylish then you usually do.

Accessories!

Thanksgiving Outfit Ideas

I think this tip goes for any outfit. Don’t be afraid to add a hat or knee high boots. I feel like for fall not only do hats keep you warm but they also give off a really cool vibe. It is important to find the right kind of hat. Don’t just og to the store and buy one. You should actually try them out and see what fits best for your head shape because hats are definitely not always flattering on everyone. I am obsessed with this look I put together awhile ago and I still look to it today for my Thanksgiving outfit ideas.

Cowl Neck Sweaters

Thanksgiving Outfit Ideas

Turtle neck sweaters are not my favorite but for some reason I can wear a cowl neck no problem. I love this one from Hollister because its boxy but also flattering. I dressed it up with a sweater but it also would be cute with a pair of jeans or booties. If your Thanksgivings aren’t that dressy, even wearing a nice sweater with leggings will keep you looking put together.

Corduroy Skirts

Thanksgiving Outfit Ideas

One fall trend that I love and is timeless is textured materials. I love Corduroy skirts because they look cute but often are thicker and warmer than other skirts. Forever 21 often has them super cheap and I think that is where I got this one from. I love a good skirt and sweater situation for Thanksgiving and fall so this outfit is perfect!

I hope this post is exactly what you need to get inspired for Thanksgiving outfits. These Thanksgiving Outfit Ideas are some that I will use this year to put my outfit together. Be sure to follow me on Instagram @cassiedenisco to see what I end up wearing!

My October Favorites

October 30, 2019

I cannot believe that October is practically over as I write this. October was such a fun first month with Sky but was also a month where I found a lot of my new favorite things! I’ve put together my list of October favorites that you totally need to try in November!

Clinque Extra Gentle Cleansing Foam

october favorites

If you read my skincare routine, then you know that I am obsessed with my Clinique face wash. I recently stumbled across this new version with foam and I fell in love. I feel like it does such a better job of cleaning my face. I love to use this with my face brush and I swear that my face is so smooth every time.

Yogi Detox Tea

october favorites

I’ve recently been more into having tea before bed because it is getting so cold. I love this detox tea because I feel like it helps me digest all the food I’ve eaten during the day and I often wake up not bloated. I know some detox teas do a number on your stomach, but this one doesn’t seem to do anything crazy to me except make me less bloated.

Wild Fable Puffer Jacket

october favorites

Okay, I know that I just uploaded my favorite fall jackets post, but I didn’t have this amazing one yet. Target seriously does it again with this one. This jacket was only $30 and is so trendy and cute. It’s the perfect mix between comfy puffer and boxy cute jacket. For the price, run don’t walk to Target for this one!!

Good and Gather Snacks

october favorites

I am obsessed with Target’s new healthy line of food. Good and Gather from Target is all organic and is seriously so yummy. The apple cinnamon bars remind me of a fig newton but like with apple pie filling. I also think these Lemon Bars are so yummy and might be even better than Rx bars. These bars were definitely cheaper and their whole line is worth checking out.

Purple Halloween Lights

october favorites

These lights added a fun glow to my room for all of those October nights watching a Halloween movie. I actually think I might leave them up at least until before Christmas because I love these. I wanted to include them here because they might go on sale after Halloween!

Selena Gomez’s New Music

This is a more recent favorite but I am absolutely obsessed with Selena’s new songs. I’ve been listening to them non-stop. Younger me is living for the Bieber Gomez drama and the fact that she dropped some awesome songs about it just makes it even better. Follow me here on Apple Music!

Thanks for reading my October favorites. October was such a fun month and I am literally obsessed with all of these awesome products that I have tried. Let me know in the comments below what your October favorites were or if you’ve tried any of mine!

Comfy Clothes for Campus Style

August 19, 2019

One of the serious perks of online school is that I generally don’t have to get up and dressed everyday. It’s truly a blessing but sometimes I do feel like I want to at least look somewhat together but still comfy since I’m not really going out anywhere. My wardrobe has transitioned to more leggings, joggers, long sleeves and hoodies but I really like to try to buy things that I could possibly wear out if I go anywhere. I mean, I don’t need to look like a bum all the time.

Here are my favorite stores to get the comfiest back to school clothes!

Victoria’s Secret Pink

I seriously love VS Pink because of their comfy material. They have a cool, comfy campus vibe and that’s exactly what I would want to wear if I were at school or at home. From leggings to cute bralettes, VS Pink seriously has you covered in the comfy cute department. Make sure you utilize the Pink Nation app because it usually has all the deals in it and keeps you up to date on when things go on sale!

Target

Have you been in Target recently? Their Stars Above and Colsie lines are serious dreams come true. The material is so comfortable and soft. I like that they’re comfortable like pajamas but they have cute styles that you could wear them out in public and not look too bummy. I also love Target because its so affordable for us college students! (PS Click the picture to shop the set)

Old Navy

I used to hate Old Navy, like seriously could not even walk through the store because for the longest time they just didn’t have anything cute but Old Navy is really on the come up. I love their athletic line because for the prices, the quality is pretty great. I also love that their athletic line is really tailored to athleisure so you get the comfort of athletic clothes but they actually look pretty cool and put together. Like seriously how cute is this matching set??

One thing that I always like to stress is that you should never pay too much for clothes. With trends changing like the drop of a hat these days, never pay too much for clothes. Investments in bags, shoes, and acessories are generally your better bet because they are classics and won’t go out of style too quickly.

I hope you liked this first mini blog post in my Back to Campus Series. Don’t forget to subscribe so that you don’t miss any posts!

Summer Date Night Looks

July 20, 2019

Imagine this: it’s a gorgeous July night and you think you have nothing to wear to go out on a date. You’re rummaging through your closet thinking that nothing works and no outfits are cute enough. Does that sound like you? Because it’s literally me every time I go out on a date or out to dinner with friends. Like I always say, the summer is the perfect time to try out new outfit trends and these are some of my favorite outfits for a date night look.

This maxi skirt is from WildFable by Target and so is the crop top I paired it with. These types of skirts are so in right now and really give off a romantic vibe. I paired this look with a platform sneaker so that it’s still pretty casual but it looks like you tried.

I love a good denim skirt for a date night. Denim helps to make outfits a little more casual but the skirt adds just the right amount of girly that you might be looking for on a date. I will admit, tube tops are so obnoxious but I think that they go so well with skirts and are great because you don’t have to wear a bra. To accessorize this look, I added my Gucci belt but you can add any cute belt to pull this look together.

Whoever told you not to wear denim shorts on a date was lying. I absolutely love the cut of these shorts from TopShop. They really help to make my legs look leaner and give off a little more edgy vibe with how they are distressed. I literally love bodysuits for dates because they ALWAYS help to show off your great figure regardless of your shape. This body suit is from J Crew last year but really has a feminine vibe with the off the shoulder ruffles.

These date night looks are sure to win over the heart of your cute date. I am obsessed with these summer trends and I hope that you are too. Summer date nights might seem super intimidating but by just taking a deeper look into your closet, you’ll find exactly what you need to create the perfect look.

Sneakers you NEED to Have in Your Closet

July 12, 2019

I think a major fashion trend this summer that you need to get on this summer if you aren’t already on it is a sneaker. I love this trend because sneakers used to be seen as only something you could wear with athletic clothes. Now, everyone is just throwing sneakers on with any outfit and turning it into the cutest look. Today I’m going to be sharing with you my top 5 sneakers that you should have in your closet.

  1. Nike Air Force 1s

If you follow me on instagram, @cassiedenisco, then you know my love of these shoes. I have the special edition ones with the stars but the plain ones are just as cute. I absolutely love throwing these sneakers on with any outfit because they add such a cool vibe. I would absolutely invest in a pair of these sneakers because they can also transition really well into a fall shoe.

2. Adidas Super Stars

These are the perfect tennis shoes for wherever your summer will take you. I love these sneakers with shorts or even a t-shirt dress. I also love the little pop of color that they come with in the Adidas stripes on the side. I think you need both these and an Air Force 1 because they’re really two different vibes. The Air Force 1s are chunky and slim your leg but these are so comfortable and seriously go with everything.

3. Adidas XPLR

I would say that you could get really any type of running shoe, but I kid you not these are the most comfortable sneakers ever. I love to wear them to workout or even just running errands. I love the pink but I know that these sneakers come in more neutral colors as well. I wouldn’t wear these sneakers with any outfit but I do suggest these because they are so so comfortable.

4. Converse or Vans

I’m putting these two sneakers together because to me, they are pretty similar. I think that there is just something about Converse and Vans that makes it feel like summer. These sneakers are the perfect summer shoe because they are not too thick or heavy but will give you some support for whatever you’re doing.

5. Slip on Sneakers

Steve Madden is my go to for these types of sneakers. I have them in like every color and they are so comfortable. These sneakers are the best on days you want to look put together but are feeling super lazy. I absolutely love my all white ones for spring and summer because they make me look tanner and also slim my legs.

Whether you’re a big sneaker person or not, there’s no denying that the sneaker trend is here to stay. I absolutely love that sneakers are becoming such a big part in outfits because who doesn’t love high fashion but being comfortable at the same time?

Make sure to follow me on Instagram to follow how I style these shoes!

Summer Street Style Ideas

July 7, 2019

If you’re like me, then you’ve reached the point in the summer that jean shorts and a crop top just aren’t it anymore. Don’t get me wrong, I love the comfort of them but I feel like they get old so quick in the summer. One trend that I am usually pretty hesitant to try is street style. If you know me, you know I’m a pastel, floral loving girl so the dark colors and structured apparel of street style is not something I usually try. I do however realize that it’s always good to try something new and being in a wardrobe rut this summer, I decided to style some pieces that would be perfect for a walk down 5th Ave this summer.

Cargo Pants

I was super hesitant to even try these pants on in the store. I just wasn’t sure how they would fit on my pretty curvy body but I ended up loving the structure to them. They’re cut like a jogger but they give such a cool vibe to them with the mesh cut outs in the knees. I decided to pair them with a bright neon green tube top and a white sneaker. This look screams street style and I seriously love this color combo. I think it’s perfect for summer.

Bike Shorts

The second I put these biker shorts on, I felt like Kim K. I mean, they are seriously comfortable but just not something that I usually gravitate towards. I found them to be so comfortable and really no different then leggings. I would even argue that these pants are even more comfortable then leggings for the summer because they’ll help to keep you cool. The night that I wore these was a little chilly so I put on this neon pink sweatshirt. I seriously love this combo of the tight shorts with a bigger hoody. Again, I paired it with my go to white sneakers and I thought this look was perfect. I also tried this look with just the same neon tube top from the cargo pants, and it looked great with that as well.

Black Skinny Jeans

I feel like so many people stay as far away from the color black in the summer as possible but I love it. I love my black skinny jeans and think they add such a cool vibe to any look. I paired these Top Shop Moto jeans with this super cute band tee from American Eagle. I love this outfit because it’s so comfy but looks so cool. This look is perfect for a night out for dinner or even just a day of shopping.

Iridescent

I tend to think iridescent clothes are definitely not for me but this tube top from Target is so fun. I paired it with my black Top Shop skirt and absolutely love this look. I think iridescent looks are perfect for summer because they’ll really play with the light from the sun. I do caution that not everything iridescent is cute and should be worn. While I was in search of something that was this cute, I came across a lot of festival pieces that wouldn’t really make sense in everyday life. This top is just enough fun that it’ll light up your night but not make you stand out like a sore thumb.

I really hope you enjoyed these looks! This post really forced me to get out of my style comfort zone and try something new. I actually have since purchased a few more pairs of biker shorts because I just love them so much. Let me know down below what your favorite look was and check out my IGTV for the outfit video!

Bachelorette Review!

May 29, 2019

This season of the bachelorette is very interesting to say the least. I wasn’t the biggest fan of Hannah B. on Colton’s season but I did go into this season with an open mind. All of the men this season are definitely potential candidates but I was so shocked with how quickly the drama started.

As I write this, last night was episode 3 and Luke P. is SO annoying. I totally get that he and Hannah did have a strong connection but she is so right, he has zero respect for her other relationships. Luke needs to be the center of Hannah’s attention at all times and that is not a good quality for a future boyfriend or husband should have. You really could tell last night that Hannah was super frustrated with Luke P. so I am certain that he’s probably not going to the end and his time is numbered, unless he can really calm down.

LUKE P.

Moving on to more craziness, I am so happy Cam went home. After telling the guys earlier in the day that he basically thought he was going home so he was going to tell Hannah an elaborate story to get pity and stay was honestly super icky. Anyone who tells a story like that with ulterior motives is really not someone to keep around. He is super manipulative and honestly he wasn’t even that cute so I’m glad that he is gone.

CAM

All drama aside, we did see two really great interactions between Hannah and Peter the Pilot and Hannah and Connor. Now, I’m not sure if I liked their time together because all of the other guys just brought drama or if I thought that Hannah had genuine connections. If I had to make a choice on who I thought would be her fiancé at the end of this, my top three are Connor S., Peter, and Tyler C. I think not only are they all attractive, they seem to be genuine towards Hannah and I actually have enjoyed all of their interactions.

  • PETER
  • CONNOR S.
  • TYLER C.

What do you guys think? Who are your top picks and who do you think just needs to go home already?

My Favorite Workout Brands

May 27, 2019

Being a dance teacher means that I am constantly in athleisure. I am always on the lookout for really great leggings and workout bras and tops that are good quality but also worth the price tag. Workout clothes these days can be so expensive but you never really know if its worth the price unless you try it. Lucky for you guys, I have tried lots of brands and here are my top 3!

Lululemon

Lululemon is definitely on the pricier side of the workout clothes market. I know that their prices sometimes even will turn people off entirely from the brand. For me, I tried their apparel and fell instantly in love. The quality of their clothing is amazing and it lasts really long, as long as you properly take care of them. I think that that is the only downside to Lululemon. You have to make sure that you wash their clothes in the way that they suggest or else you’ll have major piling on your hands. I’ve found that as long as I wash the clothes in cold water, separate from everything else, and hang them to try they will maintain their shape and their quality. My pro tip is if you live near a Lululemon outlet, go to it! The prices are way more reasonable and it’s a good way to introduce yourself to their apparel.

Gymshark

Gymshark has really great prices for the quality of close they produce. I also love love love all of the colors and patterns that they use. They also have so many matching sets to choose from that vary from bras, shirts, shorts, and leggings. I actually found out about Gymshark from Youtuber and fitness model Whitney Simmons who is an ambassador for the brand. Everything that she wears is so cute and its always Gymshark. The only issue I have with this brand is their sizing. I find that my usual size of small fits me but is a little snug with their apparel. I size up to medium because there’s nothing worse than wearing uncomfortable gym clothes.

Outdoor Voices

This brand is somewhat newer to me but I love it just as much as the other two. Outdoor Voices has matching sets for such great prices. Their quality is also spot on which is another thing I love. When I ordered online from there, my package arrived in like two days and came with a cute little care instructions card. The care is similar to the Lululemon apparel so I actually just wash all of my workout gear together. I am really looking forward to heading out to an Outdoor Voices store soon so that I can get more from this awesome brand!

A workout brand review wouldn’t be complete without shoes. For me, I was a Nike girl through and through until I found my Adidas X_PLR sneakers in pink. They are insanely comfortable and are the cutest color. I actually just ordered a new pair of them in black and white to replace my Nikes. I feel like all of the Adidas shoes that I own have the “cloud foam” that they’re known for which I am not complaining about. I hope this helped you learn about new brands and maybe even try some that you were hesitant to try before.

The Over- Packers Guide to Packing

May 25, 2019

We all love to travel but I hate to pack! For me, I get so stressed out trying to condense my whole closet into one suitcase either for a weekend or for a week. A lot of people use the plan out your days and outfits before you go trick but that doesn’t work for me at all. As someone who likes to base outfits off of what I’m feeling that day, it doesn’t always work for me. Here are my go to travel essentials and packing tips!

Pick 1 – 2 Types of Denim

I love wearing jeans in the summer when I go out to dinner but I realize that during the day, they can often make you hot and uncomfortable. I like to pack at least 1 pair of denim shorts and 1 pair of jeans but make sure that they’re different washes. This helps to plan outfits because I’ll have two denim washes and the two different types of pants that I would need to get me through the trip!

Don’t Overdo it On PJ’s

When you’re packing for a week, it can seem so daunting. Everyone always feels like they need at least 5 or 6 pairs of pajamas so that they’re set for each night. For me, I like to divide the number of days that I’m on vacation for by 2 and then pack half of that number with long pants and shirts and the other half with shorts. This helps to create more space in your suitcase while still having enough of variety of pajamas whether it be too hot or too cold.

Leave Bigger Items Out

I know how hard it is to make sure that you have all of your clothes and then also have a jacket or sweatpants for the occasional cold nights. I always like to make sure that I wear my heaviest jacket or sweatpants to the airport or car ride so that I can save as much suitcase space. If I’m wearing the sweatpants to the airport, I compensate for the heat with a smaller t-shirt on top in case I’m too hot.

Bring the Necessities.. and then Some

One area that I really don’t like to under pack on is my health and beauty products. For me, I would rather have all of my favorite face products then a million bathing suits. Staying consistent with the products you use is so crucial and, especially on vacation when you’ll be in the sun, maintaining your product use is so important. I love investing in really good beauty travel bags so that I know all of my products are properly protected. Nothing is worse then getting to you destination and having all of you products either exploded or broken.

Although these tips won’t work for everyone every time they travel, I hope that if you’re like me and love to over pack, you find something new to try! Making sure I have everything that I want or need for a vacation is a very daunting task especially with limited suitcase room depending on your vehicle for travel. I hope these tips help you with your adventures this summer!

Comfy Summer Outfit Ideas

May 22, 2019

I always find that it is easier for me to create outfits in the fall and winter as opposed to summer because of layering. I am huge on using multiple layers to create a look but in the summer that style trend really doesn’t work, unless you want to be super hot all the time.

For me summer is all about comfort. With being a student and a dance teacher, my summer consists of a much less hectic schedule which means less time running around and more time at home relaxing. Because of that, my summer outfits usually reflect my relaxed mood, meaning I like to be super minimal but still look put together if I’m out with friends or just running errands. Here are some of my all time favorite summer outfit ideas!

  1. The Sundress
  • Forever 21 $8.99
  • Forever 21 $24.90

Sundresses to me scream summer. They are so effortless because all you really need to do is put one on with some cute sandals and you’re good to go. Sundresses are so versatile that they’re perfect for dinner with friends or just to run out for a quick coffee from Starbucks. I love the fact that you can either go basic like this military green one from Forever 21 or have some fun with a pattern like this floral one also from Forever 21. I like to style my sundresses with a cute pair of sandals and maybe a dainty gold necklace. They are always so easy to style and if you’re pressed for time, a great go to.

2. Jeans and a Crop Top

  • Jeans: Nasty Gal $50
    Top: Target $5
    Sneakers: Nike $110
  • Jeans: Nasty Gal $50
    Top: Target $5
    Sneakers: Nike $110

This is probably my favorite outfit to put on when I’m going out in the summer at night. Pairing simple blue jeans with any crop top that you have give that model off duty vibe that is really in these days. For me, I like to make sure my crop tops are long enough because sometimes they’re cut way to short and just are not that cute. In this picture, I took my favorite pair of boyfriend jeans from Nasty Gal and paired it with a simple white tube top from Wild Fable by Target. (PS. Target has awesome tube tops for super cheap) To finish the look, I paired it with my Air Force 1s that have stars on them. This helped to give the look a little bit more of a fun aspect but still made it so easy to create.

3. Shorts and a Top

  • Top: Urban Outfitters $24
    Shorts: Target $15
    Sneakers: Nike $110
  • Top: Urban Outfitters $24
    Shorts: Target $15
    Sneakers: Nike $110

This classic summer look is always a go to for comfort and style. The hard part of creating this outfit is finding a pair of denim shorts that you love and are comfortable in. I actually boycotted denim shorts for a few years until I found this pair because I could not find a pair that I actually loved. This pair of denim is from Target and was super inexpensive as well. I paired it with this fun yellow top from Urban Outfitters and again used my white Air Force 1s. Pairing shorts and any shirt together is so simple but I think accessorizing is the key part here to bringing the outfit together. A cute pair of sunglasses or even rings could really dress up this casual outfit and make it easier to transition from day to night.

Some colors that I think are going to be trending this summer are neons and pastels. If you go into any store right now, most of the colors are neon oranges and yellows or pastel pinks, purples, and blues. All of these colors would pair nicely with denim or even look super cute as a sundress. The chunky sneaker trend will also be still around this summer so if you’re not totally in to Air Force 1s or the Balenciaga Triple S sneakers, there are so many dupes for much cheaper prices. This pair from Target is a great dupe for Yeezys and really fits the chunky sneaker trend.

My biggest take away is that summer is the perfect time to still stay comfortable but maybe try and go out of your comfort zone. I love using the summer as a time to try out trends that wouldn’t have worked in my everyday outfits during the school year. I also love summer to stick to my basics and just dress more comfortably no matter what I am doing.

Happy Summer!
