Last Minute Halloween Costume Ideas

October 16, 2021

If you’re anything like me, you’ve been planning your costume for months. But if you’re like most people, you’re trying to think of some great last minute Halloween costume ideas. Luckily for you, I put together 5 really fun looks that you can do with your friend or your dog. Sky was a great partner for these looks so I hope this gives you some costume inpso!

*These are all affiliate links and I make a small commission if you purchase through them. No Pressure!*

Velma & Scooby Doo

This one was a classic and I just knew I had to do it. I also found that this costume was the best one for Sky because she wasn’t super uncomfortable. When I think of Halloween, I always gravitate towards the classics and this was so fun to create!

Shop this Look:

  • Skirt
  • Top
  • Socks
  • Glasses
  • Scooby Collar

Daenerys & Her Dragon

I have seriously been waiting for the perfect time to recreate a Game of Thrones look! This one actually ended up being so easy and is a great option for a last minute costume. I love this Greek goddess style dress from Amazon and I just paired it with some braids. I also thought this was so easy for Sky because it’s just some wings!

Shop this Look:

  • Dress
  • Dragon Wings

Batman & Robin

I just had to include a superhero look and there’s no better duo than Batman and Robin! This was an easy look to recreate because I just had to put on all black and get some Batman accessories. I thought Sky’s costume was adorable and she looked too cute as my partner in crime.

Shop this Look:

  • Boots
  • Two Piece Set
  • Batman Accessories
  • Robin Costume

Witches

I mean tell me Sky and I don’t look up to no good? This was so fun to put together I am seriously so into this look! My actual outfit is from Dolls Kill but I linked some similar pieces because it took forever to get this in the mail and that won’t help your last minute costume. For Sky, I found her this super cute bat hoodie with wings and ears already attached so she’d be comfy.

Shop this Look:

  • Skirt
  • Shoes
  • Hat
  • Bodysuit
  • Fish Nets
  • Bat Hoodie

Sleeping Beauty & Maleficent

This was the prettiest costume I think I have ever worn. I loved the simplicity of it just being one thing but it looked so great. Sky actually had a dress but as you could tell she wasn’t feeling this look so I just stuck with the horns. I wanted to include at least one fairy tale look because sometimes it’s fun to do for Halloween as opposed to just the scary looks!

Shop this Look

  • Dress
  • Maleficent Costume

I hope this post helps you with some last minute Halloween costume ideas! Halloween is seriously one of my favorite holidays and I love to go all out for it. Give this post a like if you enjoyed it and you can read more Halloween posts here!

French Bulldog Life Hacks You Need to Know

October 15, 2021

I love my french bulldog but as many of you know, they are a very particular breed. After having her for now 2 years I can say I have found many french bulldog life hacks that I want to share. I love this breed but you have to be prepared to care for them and their many needs. You can read more posts like these here!

Bentonite Clay Shampoo

I’ve found that shampoos with Bentonite Clay work wonders for my ichy Frenchie. This class has been shown to work wonders for itch and hotspots which is something Sky suffers from over the summer. I love the Moosh brand shampoo because it’s all natural and doesn’t have harsh cleaning chemicals. For me, I would never want to put something on her skin that would potentially have bad effects later on. I stick to all natural and organic ointments and creams. This shampoo does the job to clean her and keep her skin soft and itch free.

Dasuquin Hip and Joint Supplements

french bulldog life hacks

I became interested in giving her hip and joint supplements after some research. Dasuquin was recommended to me by my vet so I have just stuck with it. Starting a pet on hip and joint supplements early, especially if they are a breed prone to issues, can help lessen the chances of developing major issues down the road. One thing I’ve learned with French Bulldogs is the key is to make sure they are bred well and then do everything you can for preventative care.

Portable Fan

french bulldog life hacks

This one is life changing. Everyone knows Frenchie’s overheat easily so it’s important to have ways to cool them down. I am obsessed with this little fan because it’s perfect to carry for her wherever we go. The flexible legs are great because I’ll attach them to her carseat in the car to give her an added level of coolness. This little fan from Amazon is powerful and I actually got the recommendation from my cousin who uses this on a baby stroller.

Life Jacket

Because Frenchie’s are top heavy, this French Bulldog life hacks is essential. Life jackets might seem pointless but they can save your pups life. We have this one from ruff wear because we needed one that would prop her head up enough. Some have a buckle around the neck but we need one that was all floating material to support her head so that she can’t get her head stuck.

I hope this French Bulldog life hacks post helps you whether you have a Frenchie or not. All of these tips and tricks are great for a different breed as well. Let me know in the comments below your French Bulldog life hacks or if you have any pet tips or tricks!

My October Favorites

October 30, 2019

I cannot believe that October is practically over as I write this. October was such a fun first month with Sky but was also a month where I found a lot of my new favorite things! I’ve put together my list of October favorites that you totally need to try in November!

Clinque Extra Gentle Cleansing Foam

october favorites

If you read my skincare routine, then you know that I am obsessed with my Clinique face wash. I recently stumbled across this new version with foam and I fell in love. I feel like it does such a better job of cleaning my face. I love to use this with my face brush and I swear that my face is so smooth every time.

Yogi Detox Tea

october favorites

I’ve recently been more into having tea before bed because it is getting so cold. I love this detox tea because I feel like it helps me digest all the food I’ve eaten during the day and I often wake up not bloated. I know some detox teas do a number on your stomach, but this one doesn’t seem to do anything crazy to me except make me less bloated.

Wild Fable Puffer Jacket

october favorites

Okay, I know that I just uploaded my favorite fall jackets post, but I didn’t have this amazing one yet. Target seriously does it again with this one. This jacket was only $30 and is so trendy and cute. It’s the perfect mix between comfy puffer and boxy cute jacket. For the price, run don’t walk to Target for this one!!

Good and Gather Snacks

october favorites

I am obsessed with Target’s new healthy line of food. Good and Gather from Target is all organic and is seriously so yummy. The apple cinnamon bars remind me of a fig newton but like with apple pie filling. I also think these Lemon Bars are so yummy and might be even better than Rx bars. These bars were definitely cheaper and their whole line is worth checking out.

Purple Halloween Lights

october favorites

These lights added a fun glow to my room for all of those October nights watching a Halloween movie. I actually think I might leave them up at least until before Christmas because I love these. I wanted to include them here because they might go on sale after Halloween!

Selena Gomez’s New Music

This is a more recent favorite but I am absolutely obsessed with Selena’s new songs. I’ve been listening to them non-stop. Younger me is living for the Bieber Gomez drama and the fact that she dropped some awesome songs about it just makes it even better. Follow me here on Apple Music!

Thanks for reading my October favorites. October was such a fun month and I am literally obsessed with all of these awesome products that I have tried. Let me know in the comments below what your October favorites were or if you’ve tried any of mine!

Halloween Party Ideas that you Have to Try

October 27, 2019

The count down to Halloween is now in the single digits which means my annual Halloween Night party is almost here! I love hosting a Halloween night party because I live in a really high traffic area for Trick or Treaters and houses that give out candy. We have my little cousins and family all come for dinner and then we trick or treat and finish the night with dessert and handing out candy. Now my parties aren’t too crazy but everyone always has a great time so I’m sharing some halloween party ideas!

Decorations:

Carving pumpkins isn’t only fun it also provides for some great decor. I love to carve the pumpkins prior to trick or treating so that we can display them for all to see. I also think getting a cute banner that says like “Happy Halloween” or “Trick or Treat” is a great addition. Target has some really cute ones! Having the perfect table setting also sets for a great vibe. I like to get the tougher table clothes so that I can reuse them year to year, especially if I really love the design.

Food:

In my house, it is a tradition to have “bat balls and worms” for Halloween dinner. It might just be spaghetti and meatballs to some but it’s definitely an easy meal to throw together. It’s also awesome to have ready when your guests arrive but leave it on the stove while you’re out trick or treating. You get to come back to an easy meal to reheat. For dessert, cupcakes are always my go to. I made these adorable mummy cupcakes by using white frosting and a straight icing tip. I added these candy eyes and they are a total hit!

Games:

Making sure your kids are entertained all night might seem hard but having games on hand to keep them busy. Target has an entire aisle with some really cute games. I grabbed this pumpkin bean bag toss game and the kids absolutely love it. I also have bingo and a pin the skull head on the skull. All of the games fit the Halloween theme perfectly and were really inexpensive. They’re great to reuse year after year and are always a crowd favorite!

I hope that these halloween party ideas help you get inspired for your own party. Halloween is the best time of year and I seriously love the spooky season. Let me know if you have any of your own favorite halloween party ideas in the comments below!

Homemade Halloween Costumes

October 13, 2019

It’s officially spooky season and Halloween is right around the corner. Halloween is absolutely my most favorite time of year because you can dress up however you want without any judgement. Every year I really try to step up my Halloween costume game but I’ve noticed that the best costumes are the ones that are usually homemade. Often the costumes you get at like Target or Party City don’t really fit right and leave you looking awkward. At least if you make your own, you can make sure that it looks exactly how you would like it too. Here’s a list of some of the homemade Halloween costumes you could do this year!

Wonder Woman

This might be one of my all time favorite costumes ever. It was made entirely from clothing that I had from home. I used a red leotard and blue tutu that I already had. All I needed was to just purchase the gold and white sticky foam from my local craft store. For the crown, I got it at my local craft store as well and just used paper cups for the cuff. I seriously love this costume because it looks so cute and it was actually so easy to create.

Black Widow

black widow and captain america homemade halloween costume

Even more basic, Black Widow is so easy to put together. I had black pieces already in my closet and just paired them together. Not only does it look cute, but it matched Jordan’s super hero shirt so it looked like we somewhat arranged our costumes together.

Minnie Mouse

mickey and minnie mouse homemade halloween costume

Probably one of my most reused costumes is my mini mouse costume. I just took a basic black bodysuit and paired it with a red tutu. I hot glued some white dots onto the tutu and then purchased on https://www.amazon.com?&_encoding=UTF8&tag=cassiedenisco-20&linkCode=ur2&linkId=549fed78305062f349cfa43d83bc06c7&camp=1789&creative=9325">amazonAmazon some Minnie Mouse accessories. This costume is so timeless because she’ll never go out of style and is perfect if you’re looking to do a family or group costume.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

ninja turtles homemade halloween costume

This costume wasn’t for Halloween but we did do it for my cousins birthday party. We just went out and purchased the Ninja turtle shirt and then paired it with black leggings. I made sure to get the same color fabric for all the arms, legs, and eye ties. My family also used an aluminum foil turkey tray and spray painted it brown for the shell. This was such an easy costume to put together but is one that seriously was one of my favorites.

Clearly you can tell I take my Halloween costumes very seriously. I start planning them over the summer so that I have time to gather everything. Making homemade Halloween costumes really just adds to the fun of the season. Let me know in the comments below your Halloween costume plans this year!
