My Sunday Reset for a Good Week

April 25, 2022

If you know me, you know I love a good Sunday Reset. Sundays are the only day that I actually don’t have to go anywhere so I take full advantage of that. I like to spend my Sundays setting myself up for a good week.

Life can get super crazy during the week so I generally leave a lot of things for Sundays to do. I’ve been loving reading posts like these to see what Sundays look like for everyone else so I figured I’d share my typical Sunday routine!

7:30 am

Sky is always up around this time no matter the day so we’re usually up and feeding her at this time. After she’s all set for the morning, I grab my ice roller and we head back to bed!

10:00am

By 10 we’re usually ready to be up for the day and will either grab bagels or make a yummy breakfast at home. I rarely have breakfast in the morning but on Sunday it’s so nice to spend the time making something like pancakes that I wouldn’t normally eat!

11:00-1:00pm

Depending on how productive I was on Saturday, I may or may not have to grocery shop on Sunday. We usually will need fresh salmon so we will make a quick trip out for coffees and whatever we need. I love actually taking the time to go for a morning ride on a Sunday because it’s leisurely and something Sky enjoys.

I always will take a few minutes to refresh the house though. I love changing my sheets, dusting, using the Roomba and mopping. This little refresh helps to keep cleaning simple and not overwhelming. During the week, I cannot be bother to do this so carving out time on a Sunday to do this is essential to keeping me sane during the week.

1:00-4:00pm

After that, I always make sure I spend time doing whatever I want. Whether it’s a nap, reading, or doing some yoga/pilates, I like having time for it. Sundays are only relaxing if I can be productive but also make time for myself to rest and recharge. We generally do laundry throughout the week so this time on a Sunday can really be relaxing.

5:00-7:00pm

I am all about an early dinner on a Sunday. I love eating early, cleaning the kitchen, and then taking a good shower. Sundays are my favorite days for a yummy meal but that has easy clean up. You can check out my favorite soup recipe here that’s always a go to on a Sunday for me.

My Sunday showers are also a ritual. I love washing my hair on Sunday to set myself up for a good week. I’ll lotion and also lymphatic drain as well since I actually have the time to spend doing that. I finish off my day with comfy pjs and a glazed donut skin on my face.

7:00pm

Once I’m all set, I’ll hop into bed and we’ll usually watch a show or movie that we’ve been putting off. I love being in bed early on a Sunday because it seriously sets you up for a good week. I’ll read and then finish off the night with essential oils and a quick mediation before bed around 9pm.

Everything I just listed is my ideal Sunday reset. Obviously not every Sunday will be this dreamy but I do try to make a few of these things a priority no matter what I’m up to that day. Also, your Sunday reset might be totally different and that’s okay too.

I’m all about setting yourself up for a successful week and you might have to do different things to do that. Let me know your favorite things to do on a Sunday in the comments below and subscribe here to the blog!

My Shower Routine

August 6, 2021

One thing I can’t live without is my long showers. Showering to me is so therapeutic and I have gotten my shower routine down to a since. I love nothing more than after a long day taking a shower to just get rid of all the stress of the day. This post is dedicated to all of you out there who love the shower as much as me!

The first step to any good shower routine is ambience. I like to turn the lights off so it’s dark. Sometimes I’ll even drop in a few drops of essential oils like lavender or eucalyptus to help me relax. I also have recently been incorporating music into my routine. I got this adorable little water proof speaker and I’ll play some Taylor Swift or spa music to unwind.

After I set the stage for a relaxing shower, I’ll hop in and get to the nitty gritty with my products!

Dr. Teal’s Lavender Body Wash

This is my go to body wash when I’m needing to unwind. Because it’s epsom salt, it relaxes the muscles and the lavender scent just takes it to the next level. I can’t get enough of this body wash and it also makes a good bubble bath soap too!

Shampoo and Conditioner

My shampoo products often switch up during the week. I’ll go in with Olaplex when I’m needing something to help refresh and hydrate my hair. I use the Not Your Mother’s Purple Shampoo and Conditioner when I really need to refresh my blonde. I try to only wash my hair every other day so I will make sure to switch off between these products so that my hair always gets what it needs.

Shower Tools

This is probably my favorite section of products for the shower. I love to use a loofa with my body wash. It helps to really soap up the product and get it into a thick lather. Similar to a loofa, I love this hair massager. It helps to get the buildup off your scalp while also giving you the best scalp massage. My final shower tool is my face brush. This is great to use in the shower because it cleans my face and then I don’t have to do it when I get out.

This was definitely a more up close and personal blog post with sharing my shower routine. I cannot explain just how much I love a good shower so I hope these products and tools help you get the most out of your shower. Let me know in the comments below if you’re a night shower person or a morning. I am definitely a night person!!

My Relaxing Night Routine Essentials

March 12, 2021

If you’re anything like me, once night rolls around you’re ready to unwind. With the days looking the same because of the pandemic, I often just feel exhausted of the day to day routine that I’ve found myself in. I love getting to relax by getting ready for bed and using my relaxing night routine essentials. They help me rest and recharge for the next day and rest of the week!

Set the Mood

The first step to relaxing in my mind is lighting. I like to make sure I turn off my very bright and harsh over head light and switch to softer and less bright lights. This is my first step because it seriously helps my brain to realize it’s time to start relaxing because it’s getting darker. I also like to light my candles at this point because it just helps give off that cozy vibe.

Essential Oil Showers

I don’t know how anyone can take a shower in the morning and then get into bed at night. For me, I have to be clean before hopping into bed and I absolutely love using essential oils in the shower. I like to sprinkle lavender all over and then let the shower get hot and steamy. It seriously is a game changer and something that helped enhance my shower. In addition, I also recently found this Dr. Teal’s Lavender Body Wash and all I’m going to say is you need it! It is so bubbly and would be awesome in a bath.

Another level of relaxing I like is to take a shower in the dark. I have a small night light in my bathroom but taking a shower in the dark with my essential oils really reminds me of being at the spa. Just small things like this help to elevate my shower to make it that much more relaxing and recharing.

Comfy Clothes

After I shower, the most important thing to me is how comfy and cozy the clothes I am about to put on are. I love my Barefoot Dreams Robe because it is like being in a cozy warm hug. This robe seriously makes me look forward to my night time routine because I can’t live without it.

Something for You

relaxing night routine

One thing that leveled up my routine was realizing this is basically a date with myself. This is 30-60 minutes of uninterrupted me time each day that I need to be able to tackle another day. I like to end my relax routine by doing something for me. Whether that’s cooking my favorite salmon dinner, reading my favorite book, or steaming/face masking, it’s just something little for me that makes me happy.

I think my overall theme here is for you to take time for yourself. Just a few minutes with yourself each day can help to rest and recharge you to keep going for the rest of the week. My Monday nights are dedicated to this in depth routine because it’s when I have the most time to really relax and unwind without having to rush home from work.

Let me know in the comments below what is essential to your relaxing night routine. I am all about relaxing and recharging in 2021. If the pandemic taught me anything, it’s to make sure we slow down once in awhile and get back in tune with ourselves.
