My Favorite Products from December!

January 19, 2022

I feel like I am constantly sharing products and reviewing them so I decided along with my monthly book review, I would have another bonus post! This post is dedicated to all the favorite products I had from the month before!

December was a busy month and I had some products that I really could not live without. They seriously got me through the busiest month between content, work, dance and just life. All of these links are affiliate links so if you purchase I do make a small commission from them. As always, there is no pressure, just like to mention it!

Simply Modern Tumbler- Shop Here

favorite products

I’m probably late to this party but I cannot life without this cup. It keeps my cold drinks cold and the sleek design is a serious plus. I had the pink and blue ombré and asked for the black for Christmas. Between the both of them I am set for this next year.

I think one thing I have with reusable water bottles is they aren’t always chic and cute. They’re often just bulky and too gaudy but I love everything from this brand. They also make a similar size to the hydroflask that I have but I prefer this one since it fits in a cup holder.

Day Designer Deluxe Weekly Planner- Shop Here

favorite products

Okay this was a literal fail on my end. I’ve actually had this planner since June but didn’t realize how great it actually was until now. I use a weekly planner as opposed to a daily planner because I don’t need to have my entire day fully planned.

However, on a Monday when I am off from teaching, I do like to maximize my time and plan out the day. I realized that in addition to being an amazing weekly planner, in the back there’s sheets of their amazing day planner that you can use. I fill it out on Mondays and it keeps me so organized for the whole week.

Kate Spade Oversized Throw- Shop Here

I’ve had this blanket since the end of the summer but didn’t realize just how great it was until the weather got cooler. This is my go to throw because of how plush it is. I had another very expensive and luxury brand blanket but it doesn’t compare to this after washing.

I’ve washed this blanket a few times since it’s white and I have a dog and I realized it really holds up. It is just as soft as it was when I first got it. It also is easy to clean and get stains out of which is super important since it’s white.

Lululemon Scuba Hoodie- Shop Here

I’m sorry in advance for this one because it’s probably still sold out. I had to mention it though because this sweatshirt has become my life. I’m a dance teacher so I’m always in athleisure. These sweatshirts are so flattering but also easy to move in.

Sometimes I just want to be comfy and cozy but not in a huge sweatshirt. These are cut so well that they give you that vibe but are easy to dance in. I have both the 1/4 zip and the full zip and I literally love both equally. They both seriously get the job done.

Slip Silk Scrunchies- Shop Here

I feel like because I’m a dancer, I know scrunchies and hair ties best. These thin scrunchies from Slip are literally insane. They seriously hold your hair but don’t damage it. I am literally never going back to the rubber band ones.

I found that my hair was breaking so much and once I started using these, my hair was able to relax a bit but still be up and pulled back securely. That of course is key when you’re dancing for multiple hours a day.

I would swear by these favorite products because they are all just that great. These are things that I reached for multiple times this month and they’ve really held up. I think my top two would be the planner, it kept all the dates for me, and the scrunchies because I could teach in them.

Most of these products I actually have had for a while but I rediscovered them in December. If you have any of these favorite products or try them out, let me know in the comments below! I hope you enjoyed this bonus post and let me know the content that you’re interested in reading. I’m always looking for new posts and ways to share!

Neutral Basics You Need this Winter

November 26, 2021

As many of you know, I rarely wear color so I found it fitting that I share my neutral basics you need this winter. Not only are neutrals trendy but they’re so great to have in your closet year round. I’d like to think I have a capsule wardrobe where I have only what I need and can mix/match but that’s just not true.

My closet has some fun pieces but is many built around neutrals and there’s no better time to rock them then the winter. Bright, fun colors to me are more spring and summer and the neutrals are perfect to pair with the snow.

Here are my must have neutral basics for winter:

Cream Knit Sweater

neutral basics

I put this one first because a cream sweater is seriously the first and most important neutral basic in my winter closet. Whether you pair it with jeans or a skirt, this single piece can get you through the whole winter. I am obsessed with the mock turtle neck on this one from H & M.

Beige Flannel

neutral basics

One trend I’m really into this fall and winter is a flannel to layer with. I paired this beige flannel with my matching set and it seriously looks so cute. It gives you all the fall and winter feels but also makes the outfit complete and warm. This flannel I’m wearing is thrifted but here’s a similar one from Amazon you can shop!

Tan Jacket

I feel like everyone has the big puffy jackets but I think a good tan or camel color is essential for the winter. Peacoat’s are great to elevate a look while still staying super warm. I love this one from J Crew because it’s not too long for my short legs, but it is longer then others. I invested in this piece a few years ago but here’s a similar one from Lulus!

Black Long Sleeve

neutral basics

A black long sleeve is so essential to a winter wardrobe. You can layer with it or wear it alone which makes it the great piece for your closet. A black long sleeve has great versatility so finding one you love and will wear is actually a great addition to your closet. I love the neckline of this one from Lulus because it’ll be flattering on so many bodies!

I love reading posts like these because they really help to get you thinking about what’s in your closet. It also helps me to think about what I should have in my closet and how to create outfits from that. I am a firm believer in you probably have an outfit in your closet but knowing you have basics is so important to ensure that.

I hope you liked this post and got thinking about neutral basics you need in your closet! To read more posts like this, click here!

Fall Outfit Trends I Love

October 8, 2021

I can hardly believe that fall is here! I love fall fashion because of the warmer colors and layering of outfits. Overall, fall is seriously my favorite time of year and the fashion just adds to it. I thought it would be fun for me to share my favorite and go to fall outfit trends for this fall!

Leather

fall outfit trends

I love breaking out my leather jacket for fall. It’s seriously the perfect accessory to throw on with any outfit. It gives you an edgy vibe but keeps you warm enough on a cool night. My biggest tip for a leather jacket is to really invest is one. Mine is from Topshop and was pricy but I have had it for many seasons and absolutely love it.

Statement Jackets

fall outfit trends

There is nothing I love more than a statement jacket. They are my go to fall piece no matter the outfit. I find it so important to make sure I have jackets that I love because they can really make an outfit in colder weather. This jacket is from Lulus and I am literally obsessed with using it to dress up or dress down an outfit.

Good Shoes

fall outfit trends

I am a sucker for a good pair of booties in the fall. They add to any outfit and are so comfy. If it were up to me, I would wear booties all year round because they are the perfect accessory. These are from Old Navy and I would check them out for a lot of your fall outfit trends because they are super affordable.

Basics

One area that I feel like everyone lacks in is there basics. Basics are a year round staple and it’s important to build up that collection before you even get into the fall outfit trends. I like to buy my basics from places like Aritiza or even Target because you just want pieces that you can transition into any season. You can shop this crop top here!

I hope my fall outfit trends post inspires you to build up your wardrobe of basics and trendier pieces. Fall is such a fun time of year because you can really play around with layers. It’s also not too hot so you can get creative with whatever you want to wear!

My Spring Clothing Haul 2021

March 26, 2021

I feel like I haven’t purchased new clothes since last year this time. This spring clothing haul is probably the first time since March of last year that I purchased normal clothes, not just sweats and loungewear. I am so excited for the weather to get warmer and I thought I would share some of the pieces I’ve collected so far for spring 2021. Spring is the perfect time to experiment with new looks and styles because it’s not too hot or too cold. You can really go either way with whatever look you choose!

Matching Set
spring clothing haul 2021

This matching set from Good Tuesday is the perfect two piece set for spring. It came with a bralette and the matching bike shorts in this pretty blue color. As many of you know, I am definitely a neutrals gal but I found this to be the perfect pop of pattern and color for spring. This is sold out on their website but there are a lot of other cute pieces for spring. I personally love their bralettes too!

Athleisure

This next outfit is a full Amazon fit. I’m really into the althleisure look for spring and Amazon has some great pieces that are affordable. This cropped sweatshirt was only $29.99 and comes in so many colors. Perfect to throw on over a sports bra or a tank top and head out for the day. Stay tuned for next week’s post because I’ll be sharing all of my top Amazon Workout Favorites!!

Good Jeans
spring clothing haul 2021

If you know me, you know jean shorts usually aren’t it for me. I made it my mission to find myself shorts this season that fit well and are comfortable. These are the mom high rise shorts from American Eagle. I am literally obsessed with their curvy line. I cannot begin to tell you how great it is that they make denim that is snug at my waist but has enough room at my thighs. If you haven’t tried AE before, run don’t walk to get your hands on these shorts!

Nicer Tops

Sticking with American Eagle, I wanted to start building up my nicer shirts. I felt like I gave up on wearing fancier tops last year but I knew when I saw these that they were perfect. I love the simplicity of the cream one and the pop of color and fun of the pink. Both are basics but are fun to incorporate and style this spring.

Accessorize
spring clothing haul 2021

The final piece that I wanted in my spring clothing haul were baseball hats. I wore a beanie most of the winter so finding a good baseball cap was at the top of my spring accessory list. This one I found from Lululemon. I love the pale pastel pink and think it will look great with an all black look.

When shopping for this spring clothing haul, I wasn’t trying to redo my wardrobe but I wanted pieces to ease myself back in to wearing real outfits. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not giving up my sweats but I am so looking forward to having places to go and putting together real outfits again.

Let me know if you liked this spring clothing haul! I usually don’t do them but thought it would be fun to share my post pandemic pieces and how I’m looking to transition to spring from winter.

Best Women’s Loungewear Pieces

February 19, 2021

Where I live, February is one of the coldest months of the year. Temperatures are often single digits and there is always a chance for snow. My style switches from looking good to staying warm and comfy. I’ve complied my list of best women’s loungewear pieces that I cannot live without. This list has everything you need to keep you comfy and warm, while also stylish this winter.

The Matching Set

  • VS Pink Pullover $39.95
  • VS Pink Campus Jogger $46.95

This trend has recently taken off during quarantine and I’m here for it. There is no better feeling then having sweatpants and a sweatshirt that match because it helps you look a little more put together. This set that I’m wearing is actually from Victoria’s Secret Pink.. shocking I know. I poked around on their website and was so surprised to see that their signature logo was not plastered all over the clothing. One of the reasons I turned away from Pink was for that reason. I couldn’t stand wearing clothes with the brand in giant glitter but the logo is small and discrete. It helps to make this matching set looking definitely more expensive and almost like something from Aritzia or Urban.

The Perfect Leggings

best women's loungewear
Lululemon Align Leggings $98

No matter the season, leggings are always a staple for me. They’re perfect for staying warm and dressing up or down an outfit. I’ll throw on leggings for a workout and even just running errands. I truly believe they are versatile and are the epitome of the athleisure style. Leggings also go great with winter shoes like boots and sneakers, so why wouldn’t you take advantage of this comfy time! My go to legging brand will always be Lululemon. I am probably their Aligns’ biggest fan. I know they’re pricy but let me tell you, they are worth it for how soft they are and they last as long as you take care of them.

Socks Aren’t Just for Warmth

women's socks
Hanes Women’s Crew Socks $10.99

Crew socks have definitely come a long way in the past few years. I personally never wore them until they somehow made a comeback. Whether you’re wearing boots or even sneakers, a crew sock is the perfect accent for any outfit. Obviously you aren’t going to wear them pulled all the way up but I love the look of them scrunched up on top of leggings or just peeking out of my UGGs. I think this is one of the best women’s loungewear trends because you actually get to take advantage of the comfort and coziness of the sock.

Cozy Boots

best women's loungewear
Ugg Mini Boots $150

I know UGGs might not be everyone’s cup of tea but I wouldn’t survive winter without them. They are my go to shoe because I don’t have to put much thought or effort in. Like I mentioned above, I’ve been styling them with a taller sock so the color peeks out at the top. I also just think you can’t go wrong with anything that’s warm and cozy during cold months. My favorite type are the mini ones. I have had the tall and the short, but the mini gives you enough warmth and comfort without losing the definition of you leg.

Bralettes

best women's loungewear
Wilfred Tiny Tank $30

You probably weren’t expecting to see this on my list for winter but finding a good bralette is essential to loungewear. I cannot tell you how great it is to find a bra that is soft and so comfy for those days you’re just hanging out, literally. Bralettes are my go to with sweatpants and a sweatshirt. We often forget to think of our undergarments as loungewear but we want to be comfy and supported. I love these from Aritzia because they’re made out of a thicker material that keeps you supported but not uncomfortable.

I hope my list of best women’s loungewear helps to keep you cozy and warm for the rest of the winter. These are all staple pieces in my wardrobe to stay comfy but also a little stylish as the weather stays so cold. Be sure to leave a comment below letting me know you loungewear must haves!

My Tips for Selling on Poshmark

October 19, 2020

With a job like mine, I am constantly shopping for new clothes. Sometimes its just not possible to wear everything I get. I turn to selling on Poshmark to get something back for the clothes I’ve purchased and only really worn once. I love stores like Plato’s Closet, who actually go through the clothes you take to them but sometimes more expensive pieces don’t make you the most back. Poshmark on the other hand is so nice because you can decide what you want to charge. I’m basically a pro now so I’ve put together some tips for selling on Poshmark.

Only Sell Name Brand Items

You might be saying, someone will by your shirt but they probably won’t. I find that I actually sell brands like Lululemon, TopShop, and even Urban Outfitters so much faster because of the name brands. Sometimes I’ll upload things and they either take forever to sell or never sell at all. Posting more name brand and trendy brands will make your pieces perform so much better.

Price Accordingly

With any second hand shopping, know you’re probably not going to get what you originally paid for. After all, these pieces were worn or even gently worn. I generally get around $65-70 dollars for my $98 Lululemon Aligns. Still a good price but not exactly what I paid for. If you price too high, you’ll be stuck with your clothes for much longer than you’d like.

Use Keywords in Your Listing

I’m sure we’d all love to list our “cute pink shirt” but making sure we use the brand title as the first word will help people find your listing much easier. Poshmark has a search feature and it’s important that you’re items get seen when people are search for a specific thing. Make sure to detail the style of the clothing too so that when people search, it pops right up for them!

Items Can be Sent Back

Be warned, people can send items back if they aren’t happy with them. Make sure what you’re posting is high quality and doesn’t have any damage or rips. You want to grow your reputation on Poshmark so that people will come back and shop with you again so it’s so important that you sell only your best quality pieces.

Poshmark and other websites like Thread Up are awesome but you really have to know how to sell on them to get the most out of them. Let me know in the comments below some of your favorite resale websites or stores!!

Must Have Jewelry Pieces

September 28, 2020

One area of my closet that never seems to stay organized is my jewelry. I have so many jewelry pieces and I love wearing them with pretty much any outfits to accessorize. Whether I’m going for an athleisure look or a night on the town, jewelry seriously helps to put the finishing touches on an outfit. This post is dedicated to all my favorite and must have jewelry pieces in your collection.

Dainty Necklace
jewelry pieces

For me, a dainty necklace is a must have layering piece. Starting with something like this and adding on more lengths and style can seriously elevate your look. I even love a dainty necklace on its own to just spice up any look. I know many of us like our go to metal tone, but I think it’s so important to have a go to gold and silver necklace so you’re set for any outfit.

Signature Rings
jewelry pieces

I titled this signature rings because everyone has there own preference on types. I definitely am not someone who likes too much bling so I tend to not get jewelry with any sparkle. Having your own mix of rings like these ensures you can mix and match easily.

Gold Hoops
jewelry pieces

Okay, you’ve probably heard this before but gold hoop earrings seriously are game changing! I love throwing on a small gold hoop if I’m out running errands or even for a night out because they just look so good. I feel like I also can conquer the world when I’m wearing them which always is a plus.

My favorite places to purchase jewelry is from brands like Brandy Melville. Brandy has the most perfect simple but beautiful necklaces. There are also so many great places to get investment pieces that are more expensive from like Adina’s Jewels. I like to keep my jewelry affordable only because of how easy it is to lose it or break it.

I hope this must have jewelry pieces guide helps you curate your own jewelry collection. Adding a simple necklace or earrings seriously can elevate your look and maybe even your confidence. Let me know in the comments below where your favorite places are to buy jewelry!

Staple Summer Pieces

July 13, 2020

Whether you’re hanging at home or venturing out this summer, I have the perfect staple summer pieces in this post! I won’t lie, summer is such a hard season for me to want to put outfits together. It’s usually just really hot and I can’t be bothered to get too involved in a look. I do love having great basics that are staple summer pieces so that no matter what you’re doing, you always look put together!

Crop- Top Tanks
staple summer pieces

If you know me, you know I live in these all year long for lounge wear. In the summer though, I especially love to just throw these on with literally any bottom and I’m good to go. For me, tanks like these double as a bra so I can wear this with anything and I’m ready for the night or day. These tanks are from Wilfred by Artizia and are $30. They do usually go on sale but you can find similar ones on Amazon! For reference, I ordered a size small.

Over Sized T- Shirts
staple summer pieces

I realize I’m late on this trend but I love this for summer. Over sized tees are literally the comfiest thing to sleep in so why not wear them out too? I pair mine with biker shorts and chunky sneakers. It makes me look like I actually put effort into my outfit when in reality I’m so comfortable. I got this t-shirt on Nasty Gal. Unfortunately, this one is sold out so I link a similar one that is only $20! Mine is a size large.

Biker Shorts

These are absolutely a staple piece for summer and I am going to give you a hack for them. I didn’t like biker shorts on me for the longest time. I’m short and I have thick legs so they never looked flattering, until I realized I needed to buy shorter ones. Now, I wear these all the time instead of denim shorts. I absolutely can’t stand shorts in the summer so these are a great alternative! These are on Amazon for $19.99 and are one size!

Silk Pajamas
staple pieces for summer

There is no better feeling than a shower after a hot day and going to sleep in AC. To elevate this feeling, I add in silk pajamas and it is everything! In the summer I tend to not wear matching pajamas as often as the fall and winter but I couldn’t resist when I saw these. I love that they’re both shorts and short sleeved but are the cutest color. This set is from Nasty Gal and is only $20!! They’re sold out in this color but I linked two other really cute colors. I got these in a size large because Nasty Gal tends to run small, but I could’ve done a medium too!

Over Sized Hoodie
staple summer pieces

This might seem weird and you’re probably wondering why I have a sweatshirt in my staple pieces for summer post. I kid you not, I have been living in hoodies because my house gets so cold in the AC on! I also love running errands with this and biker shorts because the stores are freezing this time of year. Also, pro tip, hoodies are usually on sale this time of year because no one needs them so you can seriously stock up for winter! This is the nicest hoodie I have and it is from Nasty Gal! It’s currently $20 and I got a size large.

As you can see, I like to keep it comfy and casual in the summer. With everything going on in the world today, I’m also not doing as much traveling as I usually do so I’m keeping it super simple. Let me know your staple pieces for summer or any other blog posts you’d like to see!
