Honest Review of Victoria’s Secret

May 17, 2023

After ditching this brand for a bit, I recently made a purchase and figured I would share an Honest Review of Victoria’s Secret! I was interested to see if the quality lived up to what I remembered. I even had some of those coupon cards they used to give out.

It definitely was nostalgic purchasing from them and I really was impressed with what they offered. I liked the gender neutral Pink line. The website stuff looked great but I was excited to get the stuff in and try it on. The links below are affiliate links so I do make a small commission if you purchase!

Cotton Oversized Sleep Shirt

I have a few of these older tees and I was excited to get this new one. It might even exceed the softness of the original I have and I really love this lilac color. I sized up to XL because I love an oversized shirt and it’s still a little short. I would say this is more of a boxy tee but I still love it.

Modal Short Pajama Set

Shop Here

I’m a sucker for a pajama set and this one is pretty iconic. I love that it’s short sleeve because it’ll be great as the weather gets warmer. The quality of this is great too. It’s buttery soft and I got a S. Definitely fits exactly how I would want it to! These sets are pricy but I feel like you have pajamas for years so with a coupon it makes these worth it.

Cotton Foldover Flare Leggings

Shop Here

review of Victoria's secret

This is where the quality went south. I loved my yoga pants from Pink. These, I do not love. They material is a cotton blend and they’re definitely see through. The old ones I had were like a buttery soft material and these are a bit scratchy. The cut is still the same but the quality and material is definitely not what I remember.

Victoria’s Secret is definitely a hit or miss for me now. I can see why I slowly stopped shopping there because not all their pieces lived up to the price and brand. With their coupons it makes the pieces affordable but I can’t say I would shop their full price again.

I did end up keeping the yoga pants and have worn them, but they just aren’t like the originals. I hope you liked this honest review of Victoria’s Secret and let me know any other brands I should review!

My Must Have Accessories- Bonus Post!

May 18, 2022

I have truly curated this must have accessories post with all of my favorites! I find myself sometimes looking to splurge on accessories and other times, Amazon does the job. They can help add to any outfit and really elevate your look.

My favorite outfits are those casual ones with cute accessories. It always makes you look so polished and put together when you really didn’t try that hard. All of these items will have links and as usual I make a small commission if you purchase through them but there’s no pressure!!

Amazon Sunglasses- Shop Here

must have accessories

Why would you ever pay for expensive sunglasses when Amazon seriously has the greatest selection? I can’t get over that they not only have designer dupes but they have so many unique styles. They’re all so affordable and I can really switch it up which I love.

I am obsessed with these sharp glasses. They’re great running errands and walking the dog but they also can help to dress up an outfit when you’re going out. They are so affordable and a true must have.

Lululemon Everywhere Belt Bag- Shop Here

If you read my pet favorites post, you know I love this bag. It has seriously just become my everyday bag because it perfectly fits my keys, phone and wallet. If you’re a dog mom, there’s also an outer pouch that I put in some dog treats so we’re set when we go out.

Definitely on the pricier side, but when I tell you I use this all the time I seriously do. Many of you know I’m also a dance teacher and this is the perfect bag for those long competition days. Not too big and easy enough to carry the essentials.

Hoop Earrings- Shop Here

This is a newer accessory favorite of mine but hoop earrings elevate any look. Whether you’re rocking athleisure or a nice going out outfit, hoop earrings get the job done. I am obsessed with these from Amazon.

Disclaimer: sometimes jewelry on Amazon is hit or miss. I have really sensitive ears so I find that sometimes the quality isn’t there but I found these to work well for me. I like a chunky but small hoop because it just gives the outfit a good feel.

Aritzia Socks- Shop Here

You’re probably asking why specifically Aritzia socks but they are next level. I feel like everyone has their go to sock brand and my favorite is Aritzia. They are not only super cute but come in so many lengths so it helps to add to your outfit.

Tall socks have really been making a comeback so I love adding these to a sneaker outfit. Whenever I’m ordering I always order socks because I just love them that much.

Creating a Capsule Wardrobe: The Pros & Cons

March 28, 2022

I have long been interested in breaking down my closet and transitioning to a capsule wardrobe. This basically just means you have a few pieces that for the most part you can wear together. I definitely could not fully commit to this but I did have fun picking out pieces that I felt would best fit a capsule wardrobe.

These are essentials basics that can be paired with anything. I’ll leave a few links to the items I mention which are affiliate links but I honestly think the key here is finding what you like. You’re basically downsizing your closet so you have to have pieces that you love no matter what.

The Pros

I’ve found it so easy to create outfits. With such a packed closet, it was often overwhelming to look through. By narrowing it down to primarily basics with some funky pieces thrown in, I can easily see everything and put outfits together.

In addition to quickly creating outfits, I feel like I’ve saved some money. I initially invested in good quality basics so i don’t really need to be spending a crazy amount on clothes each month. For the most part, I’m just adding in more trendy pieces once in awhile.

I think the most obvious pro is that your closet is organized and clean because you don’t have the clutter. My clothes take up about half the space they used to so it is nice having more room and the ability to actually look for clothes.

The Cons

I miss a big closet. This was something that I always thought wouldn’t have been a problem. I was constantly trying to get rid of clothes but turns out I liked having a lot. I’m super indecisive so I feel like having many choices was easier on me.

It takes a while to get there. I had been finding and investing in pieces for a while before I could say I had a good capsule. I wanted to make sure I loved the pieces and actually wanted to wear them. Not to mention, actually downsizing a closet takes a lot of time.

I noticed all I had was black clothes. I guess for some reason in my head capsule meant black pieces so I really was just buying black basics. I love black but at the same time I like other neutrals and pops of color once in awhile.

I think trying to create a capsule wardrobe is something everyone should try. I don’t think you need to go out and throw all a way. I do think this helps you learn a lot about what you do like and actually will wear.

Let me know in the comments below your closet strategy and if you’ll try a capsule wardrobe! You can check out more fashion posts here or subscribe to my blog here!

My Spring Clothing Haul 2021

March 26, 2021

I feel like I haven’t purchased new clothes since last year this time. This spring clothing haul is probably the first time since March of last year that I purchased normal clothes, not just sweats and loungewear. I am so excited for the weather to get warmer and I thought I would share some of the pieces I’ve collected so far for spring 2021. Spring is the perfect time to experiment with new looks and styles because it’s not too hot or too cold. You can really go either way with whatever look you choose!

Matching Set

This matching set from Good Tuesday is the perfect two piece set for spring. It came with a bralette and the matching bike shorts in this pretty blue color. As many of you know, I am definitely a neutrals gal but I found this to be the perfect pop of pattern and color for spring. This is sold out on their website but there are a lot of other cute pieces for spring. I personally love their bralettes too!

Athleisure

This next outfit is a full Amazon fit. I’m really into the althleisure look for spring and Amazon has some great pieces that are affordable. This cropped sweatshirt was only $29.99 and comes in so many colors. Perfect to throw on over a sports bra or a tank top and head out for the day. Stay tuned for next week’s post because I’ll be sharing all of my top Amazon Workout Favorites!!

Good Jeans
spring clothing haul 2021

If you know me, you know jean shorts usually aren’t it for me. I made it my mission to find myself shorts this season that fit well and are comfortable. These are the mom high rise shorts from American Eagle. I am literally obsessed with their curvy line. I cannot begin to tell you how great it is that they make denim that is snug at my waist but has enough room at my thighs. If you haven’t tried AE before, run don’t walk to get your hands on these shorts!

Nicer Tops

Sticking with American Eagle, I wanted to start building up my nicer shirts. I felt like I gave up on wearing fancier tops last year but I knew when I saw these that they were perfect. I love the simplicity of the cream one and the pop of color and fun of the pink. Both are basics but are fun to incorporate and style this spring.

Accessorize

The final piece that I wanted in my spring clothing haul were baseball hats. I wore a beanie most of the winter so finding a good baseball cap was at the top of my spring accessory list. This one I found from Lululemon. I love the pale pastel pink and think it will look great with an all black look.

When shopping for this spring clothing haul, I wasn’t trying to redo my wardrobe but I wanted pieces to ease myself back in to wearing real outfits. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not giving up my sweats but I am so looking forward to having places to go and putting together real outfits again.

Let me know if you liked this spring clothing haul! I usually don’t do them but thought it would be fun to share my post pandemic pieces and how I’m looking to transition to spring from winter.
